Netball grading day for the winter season will be held early February each year. Players must be registered to participate. The grading day is designed to assess player skills to ensure they are placed in teams with others of similar ability, aiming for a fair, competitive, and enjoyable season. For players turning 9 this year up to Cadets, it is compulsory to attend. Grading sessions will normally involve warm-ups, drills, and multiple short matches.
We will normally hold a NetSetGo skills session for players 6-8 years on the day. There is no grading for senior teams.
You will be advised of grading times for each age group by email for registered players and also advertised on our Facebook and Instagram pages
Key Tip: Be prepared to play in a new team with new people, it’s a great opportunity to make new friends!
Grading Committee
Grading will take place with an independent panel of graders in consultation with the President of WNC who have a coaching and grading background. Coaches reports will be utilized where available from the prior season and consultation where appropriate will take place. Any Conflict of Interest of graders is to be declared.
NetSetGo Competition (6-8 years)
The Club will attempt to place children with one or two friends or with those attending the same school. The Club cannot guarantee these requests as it is simply based on numbers received. You will be advised of your team approximately 2-3 weeks after grading.
NetSetGo (9 Years), 10 Years, 11 Years, 12 Years, Inters (13 and 14 Years) and Cadets (15, 16, 17 Years)
Grading is compulsory for players from 9 years to Cadets. If a player is unable to attend grading, please contact the Wahroonga Grading Convenor on Grading@wahroonganetball.org.

Please bring a cool drink and wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear – no uniform is necessary. Please remove earrings and make sure players’ nails are trimmed. You will be advised of your team approximately 2-3 weeks after grading.
Please note, for those who wish to have a uniform fitting our coordinator will be able to assist on grading day.
Seniors (18+)
There will be no physical grading of Open Grade players. Whole teams will be accepted if each player is at a similar level - the team is then graded accordingly. Senior teams will be accepted as a team, you must have 7 to 12 players and allocate a manager for that team. If grading is required, registered players will be notified via email.
Individual players can be placed in a Cadet, Open Grade team and the Club will endeavor to place players in a team appropriate for their level. It is important for all players to provide as much detail as possible of previous playing experience to ensure they are graded correctly.
You will be advised of your team approximately 2weeks after grading. Please check the Wahroonga Netball Club website.
